Occupy Mainstreet is a non-partisan grassroots group working to unify the movement against oppressive regulation and taxation in order to allow small businesses to grow and thrive. Our movement seeks to raise awareness about the crucial role small businesses play in creating jobs and spurring innovation and growth. The organization is focused on shifting the focus of lawmakers from over-regulating and over-taxing small businesses to putting a greater emphasis on policies that will make it easier for them to succeed. In the late 1700's the people of the soon to be Union, stated that "the government governs best which governs least." To put it simply, if you give people free reign to do what they want, good things will happen. We object to governmental mandates that smother the freedom to expand and grow.
